CHEM-WELD 9300 is a professional compound designed for the cold bluing of iron and steel objects. It can be used for repairing damaged areas as well as treating complete objects, including firearms, machine parts, automotive components and decorative metal items.
The compound gives metal surfaces a uniform dark appearance. It provides a decorative finish and, when followed by suitable preservation treatment, helps protect the surface against oxidation and corrosion.
Suitable for:
- steel and alloys with a combined chromium and nickel content of up to 12%
- cast iron
- limited use on brass, zinc and lead
- local repairs and restoration of existing blued finishes
Recommended application:
- Clean and thoroughly degrease the surface.
- Apply at a temperature of approximately 20-25°C.
- Stir the compound and apply it with a flat brush.
- Allow it to react for 3-10 minutes.
- Repeat the process if necessary.
- Rinse the surface with water and clean it with a brush.
- Finish by treating the surface with a suitable preservation oil.
The compound normally does not require dilution. If necessary, it can be diluted with distilled water. Correct application does not alter the dimensions or structure of the treated object.
